I know we just ate, but feed us anyway. We'll take your left over... we'll even take some treats... just feed us. We will do tricks for food....

Nell has a habit of sleeping like this on the couch... it just looks sooo painful to me... but her, it must be comfortable. I wonder if dogs get krinked neck?

Nemesis #2 - Umbrella

Nell does not like the umbrella... maybe she thinks it's going to eat her up... she is soooo cute after all. Or perhaps, it's my mean BF that scared the heck out of her by opening and closing the umbrella really fast... who knows... but Nemesis #2 is the umbrella...

It feels like I've had Nell and Petey for ever... but Nell has only been with us for few months and Petey, only two weeks... They have always greeted me with excitement and entertained me when there was nothing to do.

I broke down and put a flat sheet on the couch. Nell's been pretty good about staying on the left side of the couch, but some how... she's migrated over to the right. It's little christmas-sy... but it's comfortable. Of course, the minute I put the cover on... Nell hops up and lays down. Figures....

I love lounging in the sun...

My living room doesn't get a lot of natural light due to the evergreen trees that are planted right in front of my deck. So in the morning, sun light peeks through the evergreen tree and it creates a perfect spot for Nell and Petey. They will stay there for awhile before they sit right in front of the sliding glass door and wait patiently for me to notice. Nell likes to do the "frog" pose...

Rebuttal...

Nell: "When my owner's at work, I sneak out of the jail and I hop onto the computer and surf the internet. I feel bad for Petey because he's caged in his crate and can't escape... but that's good for me because I don't have to share! I love this chair... it's so comfortable!"

Nell doesn't like to finish her food sometimes... so when the owner isn't looking, I eat her food. She doesn't feed me much... so after my meal, I'm still hungry. Nell, thanks for helping me out. This is the view I see every time we get ready to go on a walk... their noses are stuck to the door, and they whine like I haven't taken them out in 12 hours... Couldn't you at least sit?

Nell chomping down....

Well, I had bought this plastic bone for Nell before I got her. I tried to get her to chew on it, but she wasn't interested... 3 months later, Petey arrives... I give it to Petey because I don't like anything to go to waste. He chews on it for a nanosecond... all the sudden, Nell wants it. So, now she's addicted to the bone. Well... she loves it so much, she's starting to break off the bumps in the middle... she eats some and she leaves some for us... Nice, next time, can you learn how to vacuum before you chew it off?

Petey gets a bath...

Ever since Petey's been here, he's had the "old man" smell. Finally, tonight, I dunked him into the kitchen sink... He behaved okay but I'm sure he was not enjoying it. Nell was enjoying the view... at one point, my BF lifted Nell up and let her enjoy Petey getting the bath. Such a mean crowd. Petey's very muscular but I was very surprised he didn't weigh that much... I bet he's under 20 lbs... but then again, I'm not good at telling weight.

Will do anything for treats....

Nell and Petey are very food motivated. Now that I have two bostons, I take more pictures... they get more treats...

I want that cow....

I went to an airshow in Maryland and one of the sponser was the Chick-fil-A... I figured I was going to win a free drink... but I won the COW!!!! I love the Chick-fil-A cow! Since it's got felt, and it doesn't look that dog-proof, I played a little trick on Nell. More of a challenge... Will Nell be able to get Mr. Cow from the kitchen chair? So far, no.

When is Petey going home?

It has been quite a change for Nell the past few days. She's adapting very well, but pictures that I take, she looks very concerned that she is not the only child any more... Petey pretty much stays out of her way and she does what ever she wants to do... but at the end, she knows she's not the only child. What is Nell to do....

Nell had to check out Petey's crate before he went in for the night. Nell: hmmm... this smells peculiar... but it's definitely nothing dangerous.... Okay Petey... all clear!

Getting used to Petey....

Nell is getting used to our new resident Petey. He is very sweet and laid back... He is very low maintenance, and probably only one that I've met that won't get on the couch unless no one is on it. Nell still looks like she is about to cry from not being the center of the attention, but she's doing good. They have sniffed each other quite a bit, but nothing "in your face".

"Puppy"

I rescued a BT today from Washington DC's Craigslist. Apparently, the owners were moving out of state and didn't want to take the 6 year old BT, so they left her with their friends who had two big dogs... When that didn't work out, the friend gave it to the other friend who had a dog... but she couldn't take care of two dogs... They called her "Puppy" and she has lost some teeth and her breath stunk like a skunk... she had a soft lump near her chest... she was definitely not taken care of... She'll be on vet hold for little while... but hopefully, we will find her a GOOD HOME!!!!

So, I picked her up at Petsmart in Arlington and brought her home... but of course, Nell didn't like Puppy too much, she didn't like Nell either... so I traded with my rescue coordinator, and now, I have Nell... and Petey...Petey was tied to the kitchen table and when the owners gave her up, apparently, they said, "well... I guess Petey will have the best life now..." He is the sweetest BT ever...

Fluffy bed...

Nell's doggie bed got a wash this weekend. Now that it's all clean and fluffy... she must lean against it in the car ride home. This is where she chews on her raw hides and treats... so it gets gross after awhile. When I bought this bed, I thought it was a cushion with a cover that I could take off... but it turned out I have to wash the entire bed... I had to barrow my BF's landlord's washing machine and dryer since mine's too small... I'm sure he's going to wonder why his dryer's lint trap has dog hair... ;-) I cleaned as much as I could... but those pesky dog hair... they just spread everywhere!!!

Happy Labor Day!

We had my friend and her hubby come over for a little cook out. It turned out, my friend's husband volunteered to petsit for the weekend... so I told them to bring the dog (Amber) and their lovely pug (Nala). I figured Nell would enjoy some doggie company since I decided not to take her to the Boston Meetup this month due to gas prices sky rocketing.

My friend and I hit up Macy's while the guys went to the billiard... doggies were in charge of the condo... I can't imagine having three dogs... ever. It was like pandimonium coming back from the store... it's nice to be greeted at the door, but getting jumped on three dogs were not so nice.

Lazy Sunday

This Labor Day weekend, we decided to stick around the Northern Virginia area since BF's vacation days are low, and the gas prices are outrageously over priced. Since it's been soo nice out the last few days, BF offered to wash my car. He's very sweet! So while he was washing the car, Nell had a chance to lay out in the sun and nap. I was little disappointed she didn't want to play with the water. Nell lives with caution side.

Where are you?

Nell has a play buddy (my BF). Whenever she can't find him, she'll go to the bedroom and make sure he's not on the bed.
