I want your food...

One of the thing I've noticed about Nell is that although she likes human food, she has not learned how to beg yet... she'll give you the stare, but no barking, no whining... Thank goodness. Anytime I'm in the kitchen, she'll plop herself onto the kitchen mat and wait patiently for me to drop food. Also, that's her "I'm waiting for my Kong" spot. :-)

I'm Waiting.....

Nell gets her long walk around 7pm every night. Unfortunately, we had a huge rain storm come through the area right around 7pm and it kept raining until about 10pm. When she's ready to go outside, she'll plop herself right at the foyer and gives me the "stare", ie the eveil look. Poor Nell, she just doesn't understand that the world doesn't revolve around her all the time... majority of the time, but not all the time.

Say Hello to My Little Friend...

Nell and I went to Petsmart yesterday to get her nails cliped... only I forgot to take the rabies certificate with us so I'll probably go back to Petsmart tonight... Nell is very particular about her toys. She doesn't like any rubber toys... except for the Kong... even the stuffed animals, she's very particular. So I like to test out the toys at Petsmart before I purchase them. Does she chase the stuffed animal? Does she get excited? Does she chew on the toy or just sniff and walk away? I had read about the Potato Hound on WOOF board and though... hmmm... let me try this. Nell went wild... kept jumping up at me... so I purchased Potato Hound... It makes a sound like a pig oinking... very cute... She kept playing with it all night... which is AMAZING since her evenings are spent on the couch taking mini-naps.

Here's my proof...

Here is my proof that Nell is really a cat... Only cats have the glowing evil eyes... Doesn't she look like she's possessed?

It wasn't me...

Friday night, I went to my friend's birthday party and left Nell in my office instead of the usual bathroom since I felt little guilty about leaving her in there all day and all night. I keep my case of water in the office since I'm too lazy to take it with me to work or put it away somewhere else. Nell likes empty bottle, but I never thought she would go after the full bottles of water... low and be hold, when I came home, she was chomping on one of the full bottle on the papassan chair, and I look more, she had chomped on several. She had leaked the water onto the carpet, and her favorite papassan chair was also soaked... but from the picture, you can see that she has the innocent look of, "What? I didn't do it."

It's MINE! Gimme!

Maybe once a day, Nell will play with her stuffed animals... mainly the monkey... but today, it was the frog... She has a pretty strong jaw... would hate to be one of her victims! But her favorite toy is of course, the KONG!

Pillow? Where?

Nell spends the day in the guest bathroom while I'm at work. Since she doesn't like to play with any toys, majority of the time is spent sleeping... So I put a pillow and a blanket in the bathroom to make her feel at home. Only thing is, I've never seen Nell use the pillow. Everytime I come home, she's on the blanket... Doesn't she realize the pillow is softer? hmmmm? I even put the blanket on top of the pillow, and by the end of the day, blanket is off of the pillow and she's on the blanket. Funny girl...

Nightly Ritual

Nell LOVES plastic bottles. This is the only thing she will chew (which is a good thing). I've tried to give her other plastic bones to chew during the day, but with no luck so far. As a nightly ritual, Nell gets one plastic bottle to demolish. Every time I show her the bottle, her ear perks up, and she automatically sits. It takes only few seconds for her to get the cap off and start in on the actual bottle. No worries boys & girls, she is closely monitored to make sure she's not swallowing anything she's not supposed to.

Meet Nell

Name: Nell, Nelly, Nell Waffers
Sex: Female (Spayed)
Birthday: December 31, 2003
Date of Arrival: June 18, 2005
Favorite Activities: Sleeeping, napping, taking a long walk, being scratched
Favorite Toy: empty plastic bottles
Favorite Treats: Greenies, cherries, peanut butter, anything other than kibbles
Things she's proud of: Learning to walk on the lead and learning to climb the stairs.
How Nell came to live with me:
Nell and her sister didn't get along, so her owner decided to give her up. Boston Terrier of Maryland rescued her and I became her foster. Nell was supposed to be adoped to a family with 2 dogs, but during the "meet the doggies", one of their dog growled at Nell and that was the end of the meet-up. I had to keep her since she's sooo low maintenance and all she wants to do is to lay on the couch. She'll play fetch for maybe 10 minutes if she feels like it... It's all about how she feels. :-)
